Our entryway needed an update. The exposed original brick is great for some but was not-so great for me. The walls are paneled white wash and everything in the room was bright except this area. The desk was added as the catch-all and with the amount of red and brown in this corner, it caused the room to appear drab.
In an effort to brighten things up, I painted the brick with some leftover paint that we had laying around in our basement. I didn't do any research, just grabbed the paint and got to work. It's been several months now and it looks great. The paint happened to be some old drywall paint but it worked great on the brick and only required two coats.
A little paint can go a long way, as I've said before, and will continue to say. Our entryway is much brighter and inviting. This was a definite success.
